Peter's memories of Joyce

Created by Peter 2 years ago

In April 1949, when I was nearly 5, my parents and I were on leave from Malaya.  My first memory of Joyce was the beautiful bride who married my Uncle John, and how fortunate I was to be able to attend their wedding. John was definitely my Mother's favourite baby brother and she knew that he had made a wonderful choice. I came to appreciate that my Mother was right and that had a truly blessed marriage.

In 1968 Linda and I were able to invite them to our wedding and since then we have both always been made to feel so welcome in their lovely London home and later in Fosse Barn. Visiting Joyce has always been a real pleasure as she was always charming and so full of fun and life.

It has been a great privilege to know her, and we will certainly miss her.
